These discussions will leverage real-time plant health monitoring technologies to assess the impact of sustainable farming practices on crop performance and resilience in smallholder systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"198\" height=\"263\" src=\"https:\/\/urbane-project.eu\/wp-urbane\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Nutricsope-scanning-of-tomato-leaves.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-435\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A Shared Vision for Agroecology<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The collaboration centers on a shared mission to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Promote data-driven, low-input agriculture<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Empower local research teams and farmers with real-time diagnostic tools<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Evaluate and optimize soil fertility, crop health, and ecosystem services<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Through this initiative, CIRAD and URBANE are bridging the gap between scientific research and practical field applications, with a strong emphasis on participatory methods and local capacity building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Some discussion highlights<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Implementation of URBANE suggested protocols:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Deployment of SENSEEN NutriScope scanners to monitor plant nutrients, Brix, pH, and redox potential in diverse cropping systems.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On-farm trials assessing organic soil amendments, intercropping, and climate-resilient practices.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Real-time feedback loops between farmers and researchers for adaptive management.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Technical support and training for CIRAD agronomists and field technicians in diagnostic use and data interpretation.
