The Songhaï Farm: An agroecological model that works through an integrated agricultural system🌾🐓🐟

Godfrey Nzamujo, the founder of Songhaï Farm in Porto Novo, Benin, based his model on the synergies between crop production, animal husbandry, and fish farming. Waste from one section becomes a raw material in another in the form of bioenergy. Nothing is lost, everything is transformed! This recycling allows for autonomy and efficiency, forming the foundation of sustainability. 👍

At Songhaï, everything is produced, processed, and marketed on-site, keeping wealth within the community. It’s a societal project that integrates agriculture, industry, and services—the three components of today’s economy.♻️

This model has led to the creation of 17 similar farms across Africa and has trained thousands of young people through the Songhaï Leadership Academy.👏
